Funky Man is a song written and performed by Douglas Colvin under the alias "Dee Dee King". Colvin is best known as Dee Dee Ramone, bassist for the punk rock band the Ramones between 1974 and 1989.
The song's subject is based around Dee Dee and talks about certain aspects of his life, including musical interest and his wife. It was only released as a single. It was recorded in 1987 and released on a 12" single by Rock Hotel/Profile Records while Dee Dee was still with the Ramones and was supposedly created in the hospital, along with the alias "Dee Dee King". Dee Dee also shot a music video for this song.
